Dr. Tarpley received her Bachelor's Degree from William and Mary in 1971 and her DDS from the Medical College of Virginia in 1982.  She has been practicing since graduation and established her own practice in 1986.  She specializes in Family Dentistry with an emphasis on Cosmetics.  She attended the prestigious Pankey Institute, is a member of the American Academy of General Dentistry, the Implant Society of Northern Virginia, and The American Dental Association.  Dr. Tarpley enjoys golf, cycling, gardening and cooking.

Susan has been with us since the spring of 2000.  She is our Financial Administrator and looks forward to assisting you with making financial decisions regarding your treatment.  Susan is also our Invisaleader, and is ready to help make your dream of having beautiful, straight teeth come true using “invisible braces”.  She brings a big heart to her unbelievable clinical skills.  Susan enjoys camping with her husband and daughter.  She also never misses The Wheel of Fortune and would love to have a chance to spin the wheel herself.

Kathy has been part of Dr. Tarpley’s dental team since 1986.  Kathy has over 30 years of experience as a Registered Dental Hygienist.  You’ll find your experience with Kathy to be very comfortable due to her gentle touch.  Many have said that Kathy has given them the best cleaning they have ever had!!  She brings a big heart to her unbelievable clinical skills.  In her spare time she loves to escape to the beach where she can sun and swim.  She also enjoys a good book, listening to music, and dancing.

Debbie Leigh, a Virginia native, has been a part of Dr. Tarpley’s team since 1996.  She is best known for her caring manner and constant attention to detail.  Debbie Leigh strives to understand what works best for each person and to make sure we deliver it!!!  She brings a big heart to her unbelievable clinical skills.  When Debbie isn’t with us – she is enjoying baseball games, shopping and baking, especially cooking “southern.”  Be sure to ask her for her cornbread recipe!

Melanie hails from Pittsburgh originally, making her a Steeler’s fan by birth.  She has been Dr. Tarpley’s assistant since 1996 and has taken on the responsibility of managing the practice since May 2000.  Melanie’s gentle touch and focused attention to detail make complex procedures seem simple.  She brings a big heart to her unbelievable skills.

Diana has been with Dr. Tarpley since 1998, she comes to us via Florida.  She is in charge of customer relations and scheduling appointments.  She brings a big heart to her unbelievable skills.  She invites you to our office with her sparkling personality and smile!  She enjoys watching her youngest son run track, visiting her older son at JMU, and being involved with her church.

Michelle came to us in 1999 as an Intern from a Health Professions Training Institute.  When her internship at the office was completed, we couldn’t bear to part with her.  She brings a big heart to her unbelievable clinical skills.  We are certain that you will find her warm smile and soothing manner will put you at ease as she invites you into Dr. Tarpley’s office.  When Michelle isn’t with us, her three boys and her husband are entertaining her as they enjoy various sporting events and other family outings.
